Moving in/out
A two-channel sound installation based on George Perek’s book, Species of Spaces and Other Pieces, which focuses on one’s journey moving in to or out of a new apartment. By separating each sound sequence within the gallery, the viewer aurally experiences this transition through audio descriptions of a move’s mundane repetitions. . The installation creates a sense of this journey for visitors without providing any specific tangible form, highlighting the tedious work one does when leaving or settling into a space. Moreover, by playing and repeating the audio across the neutral space of the gallery, I aim to displace the audience and evoke a sense of mobility.
